Ride Description:

Format for this ride has been specially created to suit our Covid-19 environment.

Participants will be aware of and follow the most current "CCCTS Staying Safe: Guidelines for 2021 - Adapting Hub & Spokes and Tours to meet COVID-19 Health and Safety Regulations"

Participants will be asked to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for Covid-19.

Sept 10 - This non-supported, hotel tour begins in Drumheller. Once everyone is checked into their room we'll have a meet and greet if possible, otherwise we'll distribute the maps/cue sheets individually.
The next two days we will have shorter, leisurely rides exploring the Drumheller badlands, leaving time to visit the Tyrell Museum, historic sights and do a short hike if you choose.
Sept 13 we drive to Waterton Lake National Park, arriving early enough to do a short hike and explore a small portion of this beautiful area before check-in. A ride is planned for each of the next two days taking us through scenic countryside and the town of Cardston. An option to hike is available.
Sept 16 we drive to Canmore, the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We will have time to hike the popular Grassi Lakes trail before check-in.
Over the next two days we ride the Legacy Trail from Canmore to Banff, the Minnewanka loop, Johnston Canyon on the Bow Valley Parkway and visit the town of Banff.

Rides will vary from 57 - 93 kms/day. Total distance is 423.5 kms with an average distance of 70.6 kms/day.

Accommodation Reservations:

Accommodations will be booked at 3 – 4-star hotels based on double occupancy.

A single supplement charge of $780 will apply for riders requesting a single room.

Riding Conditions:

The route follows major and secondary highways or local paved roads and some bike paths. Most roads will include a paved shoulder or be of such low traffic volume to not require a shoulder. The terrain is varied with rolling hills – elevations are not extreme.

Total accumulated elevation gain/loss is +3366m/-3365m over 6 days. See ride schedule for daily elevations.

Re: Covid-19 regulations - we will follow the most current recommendations put out by the government.

Fee Includes:

Hotel rooms, organization expenses, tour organizers fee, and a 10% contingency allowance. Most hotels offer free breakfast but at this time we don’t know if that will be available due to Covid-19.

Detailed daily route maps and cue sheets, elevation profiles and road condition information will be provided at the commencement of the tour.  GPS routes will be available on the CCCTS Library.

Please note: Tour Fee is based on minimum number of registrants. If we get a full tour of 16, there could be a surplus which will be returned to the participants after the tour audit.
