- Starting point: Lanark village: Ball Park/Clarence Street Distance: 86 km
- Shortest route out is probably via Hwy 7 west until ~ 15 km past Carleton Place, then take the right turn towards Ferguson Falls, and take Co. Rds 15 and 12 to Lanark.
- Terrain: all pavement: Hills, Hills, and then more Hills: (If you are able to ride to Champlain Lookout and back you are strong enough to do this loop)
- Bring 2 water bottles and food as there are NO amenities for most of the ride (but lots of swimming options).
- Route: Lanark/Hopetown/Poland/Lavant/Snow Rd./Elphin/Mcdonalds Corners/Lanark
- Side note: The Lavant colonization road dates from the mid 1800s: Most of the settlers, drawn by the prospect of free farmland and “fertile soil”, packed it in quickly, lynched the sweet-talking land agent, timbered off their tracts and moved on,..
