Starting Point and start time: We will take the 8 am ferry from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay and the ride will officially begin when we disembark the ferry in Swartz Bay.  Participants can park in:

  • the BC Ferries parking lot,
  • the Tsawwassen Mills Mall (at their risk), or
  • the South Delta Rec. Center; 1729 56th St.; Tsawwassen.

Distance: 84 km from Swartz Bay return.  Elevation : 640 meters.

Coffee stop: Possibly.

Lunch stop: Fisherman’s Wharf in downtown Victoria (50 km. )  There is a variety of restaurants or bring your own lunch.

Comments: Participants will sign the Waiver Sheet on board the ferry (we’ll rendezvous in the cafeteria).  BC residents over 65 ride for free (bring ID) and there is no charge for bikes.  BC Ferries requires that you wear a mask in the terminal and on board (except when in a food service area).  Return ferry departures at 3:00, 4:00 and 5:00 pm.  But given the ride distance, the earliest ferry we would likely catch would be the 4:00 pm.  Optional pub stop before taking a later ferry back to Vancouver.
