“Peddle the Comox Valley and Nearby Islands”

- Cost: $30.00 which includes maps, hand-outs, Karelo fee and Monday salmon BBQ. $50.00 which includes the above plus dinner for spouse/partner/significant other. $10.00 for those who cannot attend the dinner but wish to participate in the H&S.
Description: Five days of riding in the beautiful Comox Valley and surrounding islands .
Accommodation: Tent or RV at Puntledge River Campground, 4624 Condensory Rd. This is the “Hub” where all rides will begin and end except for the island rides. Call anytime 250-334-3773.
Recommended motel: The Anco, 1885 Cliffe Ave 250-334-2451. A room with 2 queen beds, microwave, coffee maker, frig – $80.00 plus tax. A room with additional kitchenette – $90.00. Studio rooms available. There are 18 rooms reserved. Mention CCCTS or Gladys Schmidt. More rooms are on hold.

Itinerary:
Mon. June 15, 12:00 to 2:00: Registration at the Puntledge River Campground. Meet & greet.
2:00 –brief meeting to clarify rides and events. Sign up for rides, ranging from challenging to leisurely in the Valley and to Denman, Hornby and Quadra Islands.
3:00 – 4:30 – Discover our Town Rides including stops at bicycle shops.
5:30 – leave for Sunnydale Golf Clubhouse for the BBQ dinner and entertainment. You will again be honored to have Anela Kahiamoe entertain the group, with “Time for Ukes” opening.
Tues. June 16 – Thur. June 19th: choices of 6-7 rides. Most rides begin at 9:00 AM.
Thur. evening, 5:30 – supper and music around the campfire. You are encouraged to bring your instruments for a performance and/or sing-a-long. There will be a small charge for the food which will be payable at time of registration.
Friday, 9:00 – choice of 4 rides/activities:
1. A 2-3 hour hike. Destination to be determined at a later date.
2. A kayak venture in the estuary. This is a private, independent activity, non-sanctioned by the CCCTS but supervised by a trained, professional member of our club.
3. A 2-3 hour ride on the trails along the Puntledge River led by Gladys Schmidt. No skinny tires please. Your choice of a packed lunch or a quick bite at a coffee shop.
