This H&S will be similar to the June 21 – 25 2021, and the June 28 – July 2 2021 events; designed to follow the itinerary originally planned for this ride in 2020.
Riders will enjoy cycling through the beautiful and diverse landscapes of the Shuswap and North Okanagan on paved back roads. Along each day’s route there are opportunities for short walks, visits to local wineries, swimming at the beach, and historical tours.
All participants are expected to read and follow the CCCTS COVID-19 National Safety Plan and Staying Safe: Guidelines for 2021
Our base for the week will be the Sorrento Centre on Shuswap Lake.

Sorrento Centre offers a variety of accommodations: Lodge rooms, Cabanas, RV sites and tent camping and a choice of Meal Plans. Meals are served at the Richardson Lodge Dining Room and at the adjacent outdoor picnic tables.Online reservations for Accommodations and Meals will open on Monday, February 22, 2021 at 8:30 am. Quiet, scenic paved back roads through rural areas of farmland, lakes, river valleys, forests and hills. Lots of variety with low traffic volume.

Transportation to and from ride starting points (Armstrong is 70 km south of the Sorrento Centre; Salmon Arm is 35 km south of the Sorrento Centre)
Monday, May 17: on-site registration from 1:00 – 3:00 pm in front of Spes Bona. Route maps and instructions will be distributed. Each participant is expected to sign the Club’s Group Waiver prior to the start of the H&S event.
3:30 pm: a one to two hour 20 km – 30 km bike ride will leave the Sorrento Centre.
Tuesday May 18, Wednesday May 19, Thursday, May 20: A 30 – 50 km and a 70 – 90 km ride will be offered each day either from Sorrento, Salmon Arm or Armstrong. Be prepared to transport your bike(s) by car from Sorrento Centre to Salmon Arm and Armstrong cycling start point ‘hubs.’
Friday, May 21: A 30 km – 40 km and/or a 60 km ride will be offered, leaving from the Sorrento Centre before heading home.
This ride is one of three new H & S events in the Shuswap region for 2021, created to accommodate those members who previously registered for the June 2020 Shuswap – N. Okanagan Hub & Spoke, and the May 2020 Shuswap Hub & Spoke. Participants in the 2021 rides have been selected based upon lottery number placement for the original two events in 2020.
The May 17 – 21, 2021 ride is full. No new registrations will be accepted.
Your $25 Registration fee is considered non-refundable in the event of cancellation, unless the cancellation is covid-19 related.
