Ride Description:

Registration for this H&S is open for selected riders who were registered for the Shuswap H&S in 2020 that was cancelled due to Covid-19

Format has been specially created to suit our Covid-19 environment. Please read: ‘CCCTS Staying Safe: Guidelines for 2021’ which will be updated as the situation changes.

Welcome to the beautiful and diverse landscapes of the Shuswap – North Okanagan. Enjoy the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of nature as you explore on your bike some of over 1500 kilometers of paved back roads in the area. Along each day’s cycling route we can enjoy short walks, visits to local wineries, swimming beaches, bird watching “hot spots”, scenic view points and cycle-friendly local cafes. Our base for the week will be at Sorrento Centre on Shuswap Lake, 35K northwest of Salmon Arm via Highway 1.

Participants will be aware of and follow the most current CCCTS Staying Safe: Guidelines for 2021 – Adapting Hub & Spokes and Tours to meet COVID-19 Health and Safety Regulations

In the event that the ride is cancelled due to Covid-19, CCCTS registration fees (minus Stripe fee, approx. $1) and reservation fees to Sorrento Centre will be refunded.

Meals are served at the Richardson Lodge Dining Room and the adjacent outdoor picnic tables.

Riding Conditions:

Quiet, scenic paved back roads thru rural areas of farmland, lakes, river valleys, forests and hills. Lots of variety with low traffic volume.  

A lead cyclist and a sweep cyclist will be serving each of the two groups each day. 

Fee Includes:

Route maps, snacks and possible speaker for one evening.
Socials will be subject to Covid-19 conditions at the time.

Transportation to/from event

Itinerary:

On-site Registration on Monday, June 28 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. in front of Spes Bona.

Monday 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in front of Spes Bona
Casual Meet and Greet,  Route Maps and Instructions will be distributed.
Sign your CCCTS waiver. Get settled in.

A lead cyclist and a sweep cyclist will be serving each of the groups each day. 
 
Monday at 3:15 p.m. in front of Spes Bona:
A one to two hour 20 – 30Km bike ride will leave Sorrento Centre at 3:15 p.m. on Monday afternoon.  

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9 a.m. in front of Spes Bona:
A 50+/-Km and a 75 – 90Km ride will be offered each day either from Sorrento, Salmon Arm or Armstrong. Be prepared to transport your bike(s) by car from Sorrento Centre to Salmon Arm and Armstrong cycling start point “Hubs”.   

Friday at 9 a.m. in front of Spes Bona
A short ride will be offered leaving from Sorrento Centre before heading home.  

We will arrange for one interesting and informative evening presentation by a Secwépemc First Nations representative, a local naturalist or a local historian  with the aim of better connecting you to the people and regions in which we will be cycling.  

Registration and Participant Selection:

Registration won't be by the usual method as we are accommodating as many of the riders who were registered for this ride in 2020 as we can

If the ride is cancelled due to Covid-19, the $25 registration fee (minus Stripe fee) will be refunded.
