Ride Description:

Explore the lesser-known eastern half of the Lower Fraser Valley with both short and long rides: to Harrison Hot Springs, the amazing Quintette Tunnels at Othello (remote start), Chilliwack wet lands, Clayburn Village, Bridal Veil Falls, Silver Lake in Whatcom County (bring passport/Nexus) and more. We’ll likely have four rides per day, led by cyclists to be selected from the group of participants. The rides offered will be the same as those on the June 1 - 5, 2020 Chilliwack Hub & Spoke.  The event will feature a welcoming dinner (not included in fee) on Monday, three full riding days Tuesday through Thursday, a room for Happy Hours Tuesday through Thursday (Happy Hour food and drink not included in fee) and a short ride on Friday morning..

Interested wait listed cyclists who are registered for the June 1 - June 5 Chilliwack Hub & Spoke will have their registration transferred to the May 25 - May 29 Chilliwack Hub & Spoke. The remaining vacant positions will be allocated by Lottery.       

Accommodation Reservations:

H&S headquarters will be at Vedder River Inn at Vedder Crossing south of Chilliwack.

Camping space is available at:

  • Vedder River Campground (5 km from the Vedder River Inn) $30 for “wilderness” camping  (tents & campers) and $39 for a full hookup. 
  • Cultus Lake Provincial Park (10 km away) $30 for “wilderness” camping and $39 for a full hookup. 
  • Sunnyside Campground (7 km away).  $33 for a tent site and $45 for a full hookup.

Vedder River Inn has 52 rooms of all categories: singles, doubles, kitchenettes, executives (sleep 6), etc. Group rates are $98.60 for a room with one queen and $104.40 for a room with one king or two double extra-long beds (including tax).

There are also several low cost motels nearby in Chilliwack: Comfort Inn, Travelodge and other motels near Hwy 1.

Riding Conditions:

Quiet, scenic country roads. Low traffic volume. Mostly flat to rolling roads. 

A Ride Leader and Ride Sweep will accompany each ride sub-group.  

 

Fee Includes:

Route maps and Happy Hour snacks on Day 2 (Tuesday) .

Fee Does Not Include:

Fee does NOT include Group dinners, accommodation, breakfast or Happy Hour food and drink (except for snacks on Tuesday).

Route Maps will be provided to cyclists.  

 

Registration and Participant Selection:

20 wait listed cyclists who were registered for the June 1 - June 5 Chilliwack Hub & Spoke and expressed interest in having their registration transferred are on the "go list" for the May 25 - May 29 Chilliwack Hub & Spoke. The remaining 16 vacant positions will be allocated by Lottery (Jan. 21 - Jan. 24, 2020).

Registration Fee payments are considered non-refundable in the event of cancellation. Wait listed cyclists who don't make it to the Ride's "Go List" are eligible for refund of their registration fee unless they request removal from the wait list.
