In the California foothills there are some short, challenging hills. Riding will be entirely on pavement. One optional ride has a 10 mile uphill grade. You may enjoy this trip more if you bring a 3-ring road bike versus a hybrid bike; mountain bikes are not recommended.  Weather in November should be ideal for cycling, though rain gear should be packed.
