Description: Come with us to the southern part of the Okanagan Valley in spring time and view stunning scenery, in a variety of landscapes from orchards to sagebrush; and wineries to a huge radio telescope. Cycle for three full days plus short rides on May 12th and 16th. The hub will be in Oliver, a small town but with all the necessities, see www.oliver.ca/. Routes are on paved roads or good cycling paths, and there are hills to climb, some challenging but not too long. Distances will be about 50 to 75 km or longer for the eager beavers; some could start with a short drive. Some routes go into the USA so you may wish to bring your I.D.
Accommodation: The tour headquarters will be at the Bell Air Cedar Resort (1-800-801-0999) which has 7 motel rooms, 4 cabins, and some summer huts (some with kitchens), tenting and RV facilities, plus a swimming pool and a meeting room. Many of the cabins and rooms are big enough for from two or about seven, so talk with friends, check their website at http://www.belaircedar.com/motel.htm, and make your own accommodation arrangements. The rooms are block-reserve until the end of February, so call the motel soon. 888-822-1030 to make a reservation.! Please inform the staff that you are guests of Cross Canada Cycle Tour Society.
If you don’t have a partner but would like to share call Dan and hewill try to help match you. There is other accommodation nearby.[= distance from Bel Air Cedar]:
