This Hub and Spoke will give all club cyclists an opportunity to explore the lesser-known, eastern half of the Lower Fraser Valley with both short and long rides: to Harrison Hot Springs, the amazing Quintette Tunnels at Othello (remote start), Chilliwack wet lands, Clayburn Village, Bridal Veil Falls, Silver Lake in Whatcom County (bring passport/Nexus) and more. We’ll have likely four rides per day, led by experienced cyclists. The event will feature a welcoming dinner (not included in fee) on Monday, three full riding days Tuesday through Thursday, a send-off event Thursday evening and a short ride (or alpine hike) on Friday morning.
H&S headquarters will be at Vedder River Inn at Vedder Crossing south of Chilliwack. Camping space is also available at the nearby Vedder River Campground, some 5 kms from the Vedder River Inn.
Vedder River Inn has 52 rooms of all categories: singles, doubles, kitchenettes, executives (sleep 6), etc. Group rate range from $85-90, plus tax, or $115-$200 for a suite, plus tax.
Camping at Vedder River Campground (for tents and campers) will cost $30 for “wilderness” camping and $39 for full hookup.
There are also several low cost motels in Chilliwack, 10 kms from Vedder Campground: Comfort Inn, Travelodge and other motels near Hwy 1.
Quiet, scenic country roads. Low traffic volume. Mostly flat to rolling roads.
Route maps and appies on Day 1 (Monday) .
Fee does NOT include Group dinners nor accommodation.
