Our first special ride is an off-island trip to Ruckle Park on Saltspring Island. We meet at Mary Winspear parking lot in Sidney (2243 Beacon Avenue), departing at 7:30 am for the 8:35 ferry to Fulford Harbour (35-minute crossing). Cycle to the Saltspring Cheese Company for goat cheese tastings, coffee and a crumpet. Then back on our bikes, heading out to picturesque Ruckle Park. Bring a bag lunch to eat on the beach. Or buy some Saltspring Cheese at the farm along with crackers, olives, etc., for a yummy lunch. Heading home, the ferry leaves Fulford Harbour at 4:20 pm, arriving back at Swartz Bay about 5 pm. A short cycle back to Mary Winspear Center completes the ride.
