BC FERRIES SWARTZ BAY DEPART 9:10 (loading 8:55!) ARRIVE 10:10
Remember to bring BC Health Card for ½ price (return) fare.
Ride from Government Dock at Lyall Harbour to East Pt. where we will have
lunch. East Pt. is the location of the FAB Heritage Centre, a Whale Trail and
Moby Doll Park with expansive views over Boundary Pass and the San Juan
Islands. Return route (for some) will include looping around the East Pt.
peninsula along Cliffside Rd. and a stop (for all) at Winter Cove with a 10 min.
walk out to Boat Passage.
We plan on a leisurely pace with stops at some notable public water accesses.
Distance approximately 34 km.
Please bring lunch and water as there are no services at East Pt. However, there
will be coffee, goodies and extra water awaiting your arrival courtesy of your
tour leaders. Later in the afternoon refreshments can be purchased at the
General Store as well as at the Saturna Point Pub next to the ferry terminal.
Maps of Saturna with hills noted will be provided to all. There are some doozies
but there is no shame in pushing!
Return Sailing: Depart 4:20 pm (loading 4:10!) Arrive Swartz 6:10 pm
***There is no food service on the BC Ferries Mayne Queen
***We will not be stopping in the morning at the General Store to allow for more
exploring time.
