Start :  Rideau Lockstation #13 Black Rapids – Prince of Whales Drive

Start Time : 10AM

Route :  The walk will take place on Black Rapids creek trail beginning at Rideau Lockstation #13 on Prince of Whales Drive, west of Hunt Club Rd.

Directions to Start : When you are driving west on Prince of Whales drive from Hunt Club Rd., you will see a Starbucks on your left. Watch carefully for the sign for the Rideau River lockstation as you drive.  It will be on your left. Turn left into the gravel laneway and drive into the parking lot. We will walk for approximately 8-10kms on the Black Rapids creek trail toward Woodroffe Avenue. This will be an out and back walk followed by coffee. Please wear your hiking boots and bring spikes / poles in case of icy conditions. The walk will be about 2.5 to 3 hours depending on pace. 

 Group Size : 15 including leader 

What to wear/bring : Sturdy footwear, Spikes, Dress for the weather, Small pack for water and snack, Hiking poles might be helpful.

Lunch : No lunch stop, Coffee after the hike
