  • Meet at Herb’s Travel Plaza at the intersection of Hwy 417 and County Rd # 34 to be ready for a 10:00 am departure. Please allow enough time to reach our meeting location, accounting for any traffic you may encounter travelling through the City.
  • On the way to Saint Raphael’s Ruins (http://www.saintraphaelsruins.com/ ) we will take a pause in Alexandria’s Island Park for a bio-break (at about the 24 km mark); and at Brownhouse Corner’s General Store so people can pick up a cold drink / snacks before continuing the last 2.5 km to the Ruins where we will have an outdoor lunch. You could purchase your lunch at Herb’s before heading out if you aren’t bringing your lunch since the General Store offers limited lunch options.
  • Return trip will be via a different route as far as Alexandria and then from Alexandria to our cars we will retrace our morning route.
  • Upon return to our cars, some cyclists may elect to drive to Beau’s Brewery in Vankleek Hill – http://beaus.ca/the-brewery/ – they are open until 6:00 pm on Thursdays.  This side trip may be a way to avoid arriving back in Ottawa during rush hour traffic.
