Ride Description:

This is a full camping tour with a support vehicle. All tasks, including the driving, will be done by the participants. The rides will vary from approximately 60 km to 100 km per day for a total of probably 530km. There will be a few major climbs and some undulating roads through some very scenic sections of the Similkameen, Okanagan and Thompson regions of the Province. The tour will be at a relaxed pace and there will be an opportunity to enjoy the warm waters of the area as a few of the campsites have beach access. Detailed daily routes, elevation profiles and road conditions will be provided at the commencement of the tour.

Accommodation Reservations:

Camping typically be in private or municipal campgrounds with hot showers available. The CCCTS camp kitchen and related equipment will be hauled in the rented van and set up and taken down each day by the riders.  Riders will provide their own tent, mattress, sleeping bag, eating utensils and lawn chair.  Cook teams will be appointed to drive the truck, shop for provisions, and cook breakfasts and dinners.

Riding Conditions:

The route follows paved highways and where possible, secondary roads.  Most highways will include a paved shoulder.  The terrain is typical if the interior of BC and is rolling.  Daily ascents will be in the order of 300 to 750 v.m. 

Fee Includes:

The tour fees includes organization expenses, Karelo registration fees, vehicle rental, camping accommodation and all meals including cooked breakfast and dinner, bag lunch, coffee break beverages and snacks, and happy hour snacks.

Fee Does Not Include:

Costs not included are transportation to and from the start and finish point, supply of bikes and personal camping equipment. A parking fee of $5 per day per vehicle at the Princeton campsite is optional and is not included.

Itinerary:

The first day of riding will be to Keremos (66km) via the historic mining town of Hedley. Then on to the Okanagan with our first stop in Summerland (62km). Day 3 will take us along the backroads or highways of the Okanagan to the Vernon area (96km) . Day 4 will be onto picturesque Hwy. 97 to Monte Lake (70km). Day 5 will take us along the backroads/ or highway to Knutsford, just outside of Kamloops on Hwy. 5A( 60km). Day 6 continues along Hwy. 5A, past Nicola Lake and the historic Quilchena Hotel, to Merritt, a nice downhill ride (90km). The final day will involve a nice climb to Aspen Grove and then via Hwy. 5A into Princeton (90km) where your vehicle will be waiting for its ride home.

Registration and Participant Selection:

A $2.00 non-refundable registration fee is required at tour signup, which must be done online. Participants will be selected first, on the basis of registration time; secondly, on fitness and experience.

A $50 nonrefundable deposit will be required within 72 hrs, following notification of being accepted. The balance of $550 must be paid on or before June 1, 2017. If you have any queries please call Allan.
